Browns confirm DeShone Kizer will start on Sunday

On Monday, Jackson reversed course by committing to Kizer as the starter for Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

"Obviously, I'm going to watch the tape and make the best decision for our football team because we are still trying to win", Jackson said in his postgame press conference, via the team's official website.

"He has some work to do". Jackson wondered aloud after the game if Kizer will ever get it.

Improvement is not linear, but it would be useful for Cleveland to see some positive signs from the rookie. As for the offseason, Kizer hasn't done almost enough to prevent the Browns from using an early draft pick on a quarterback. The constant start-him, bench-him ridiculousness wasn't fair to Kizer, and it's completely understandable if that quickly shook his confidence. He also leads the league with 19 interceptions, including a league-high six interceptions in the red zone to sabotage things when the Browns do move the ball.

Kizer had a rough outing yesterday, throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble while gaining only 146 yards through the air in a 27-10 loss to the Ravens.
