'House of Cards' to finish final season without Kevin Spacey

Killing off Spacey's character would actually follow the original United Kingdom version of House of Cards, since the Frank Underwood of that series (named Francis Urquhart) was assassinated in the final chapter of the trilogy, The Final Cut. Conveniently enough, the fifth season of the show ended with Wright's character looking into the camera and declaring, "My turn".

Here's to Robin Wright getting even more screen time in the final year of House of Cards.

Following Rapp's claims, more men have come forward to accuse Spacey of misconduct, including a man who claimed he was a teenager when the actor allegedly attempted to rape him.

In the Michael Dobbs book that inspired the streaming giant's series, the character of Frank Underwood dies, so it is speculated that he will be written out off the screen before the beginning of the upcoming series.

For Netflix, the final season of House of Cards marks the end of the series that started the push toward original content that now defines the company.

Netflix suspended Spacey soon after the reports surfaced, and later said it would "not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey". "We're excited for the 370 people who make "House of Cards" and have done the best work of their lives on that show; for the 2,000 people in Baltimore who have come to depend on that show for their jobs".

"House of Cards" will be back in business come 2018.

Spacey reportedly traveled to Arizona last month to seek unspecified treatment at a rehabilitation facility.
