"There are two [deaths] but we are afraid that won't be the final figure", Petr Kolouch of the Prague Emergency Medical Service furthermore stated.

A major incident has been declared, after local echo24.cz reported that Prague firefighters fought an inferno in a four-star hotel on Naplavni Street, an area popular with tourists. Those who escaped without injuries were accommodated at another Eurostars hotel on Národní třída.

Prague mayor Adriana Krnacova, who was at the scene, expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims who have not yet been identified.
