Honor 9 Lite India launch

As the reader will know, the new Huawei Honor 9 Lite was launched late last month.

The smartphone also comes with a metal unibody design and it was previously launched in China a year ago. To recall, in China, the Honor 9 Lite price began at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 11,700) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The smartphone is powered by Huawei's in-house Kirin 659 octa-core processor. EMUI 8.0 comes with new features and upgrades, and is said to offer 60% faster processes. On the front, you'll find the same pair, albeit with a marginally smaller f/2.0 aperture.

The device is expected to have a dual 2.5D double-sided glass body design and four cameras, a combination of 13MP+2MP lens on both front and rear. It is also possible to stay up to date with the updates from the company's Twitter handle. As you might have guessed from the naming scheme, the Honor 9 Lite sounds like it is a "lite", scaled down version of the company's Honor 9 smartphone which incidentally, never officially made it to India. The Honor 9 Lite, which is the stripped-down variant of the Honor 9, will be exclusively available through online retailer Flipkart, for a starting price of Rs. 10,999, which roughly converts to $172. Honor 9 Lite specifications The Honor 9 Lite runs company's own EMUI 8.0 UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The storage on the device can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Prior to this, the brand had launched the Honor 9i, which is endowed with four cameras and an 18:9 display for Rs 17,999. Both the camera setups comes with a 13 megapixel + 2-megapixel configuration. Launch offers include 10% instant cashback for Citi Bank debit and credit card holders.

The front dual cameras come with features like DSLR-like bokeh mode, beautify, and moving picture which is similar to live photo on Apple iPhones.

To add to the premium look of the phone, the smartphone comes with a glossy finish at the back and is available in three color options - Navy Blue, Seagull Grey, and Magic Nightfall (black).
