Mike Tyson breaks ground on California marijuana farm and resort

He has reportedly just broken ground on a new marijuana resort facility in a small town about two hours north of Los Angeles. The Blast said 20 acres of the land will be set aside as a cultivation facility that "will allow master growers to have maximum control of their environment". Also, he has had a verbal consent with California City mayor Jennifer Wood, over the initiative. It will be run by Tyson Holistic and will be called-what else?-Tyson Ranch.

Of the multifarious developments springing from the legalization of marijuana in California this week, here's one that was hard to predict: Soon, everybody will be getting high over at Mike Tyson's place. But to show how serious he is, Tyson and his business partners have already locked down a trademark on "Iron Mike Genetics", a brand name that will presumably accompany the cannabis grown on Tyson Ranch.

There's been no date given for the opening of the ranch, but when it does open, it looks like it's going to be an incredible facility. One with the perceived benefits of athletic achievement about him and a former champion who enjoys widespread love despite atrocious past behavior.

His move into marijuana growing comes as California becomes the world's largest regulated commercial market for recreational marijuana.

It took Tyson some time to change his attitude regarding marijuana. Tyson instead moved to other drugs like cocaine and morphine, and his fondness of morphine is what he blames some of his earlier transgressions on.

California voters in 2016 made it legal for adults 21 and older to grow, possess and use limited quantities of marijuana, but it wasn't legal to sell it for recreational purposes until Tuesday (AEDT).
