Neymar's Barcelona to PSG move was a 'step back' - Ronaldo

Neymar Madrid rumours won't shake PSG – Emery

Neymar's decision to swap La Liga giants Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain was a step backwards, according to Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, a two-time World Cup victor with Brazil (1994, 2002), spent the 1996-97 season with Barcelona after joining from PSV and then moved to Inter, returning to Spain in 2002 for Real Madrid for five seasons. His former teammate Dani Alves is also selected, but Neymar - who left Barcelona for PSG in a world-record €222 million move in the summer - was not among the names to make the cut following nearly 8.8 million votes being cast.

During a recent interview with former Brazil worldwide Zico, Ronaldo admitted that he was surprised by Neymar's choice, and feels it was a step in the wrong direction.

According to the source, the transfer of Neymar from PSG to real Madrid is estimated at 400 million euros, which is nearly two times more than the French last summer, has paid "to Barcelona".

PSG are back in action against Claudio Ranieri's Nantes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Neymar's move was sparked in part because of his man-of-the-match display in Barca's stunning 6-1 win over PSG in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie, which the French began with a 4-0 aggregate lead.

Neymar kept up his hot streak in front of goal by netting against Amiens in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday.
