Nokia Smartphone With Penta-Lens Camera Reportedly In The Works

The report suggests that the smartphone will apparently feature a large circular housing on the back with seven cameras and two LEDs, similar to the Lumia 1020.

In fact, the same source also mentions that this phone will have a Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is a top-end chip, likely to be used in many of this year's most powerful phones.

The latest rumor is that HMD Global is working on a Penta-lens camera for the 2018 flagship.

Reports are leaning towards the penta-lens mobile offering an OZO style experience. The smartphone is also expected to come with 18:9 display, but other details such as the chipset, RAM and software are unknown. The source added that the Finnish company failed to start mass production of the upcoming device due to some issues but could see the light of day in the second half of this year if all goes well. Huawei's P-20 is expected to be launched at the MWC in Barcelona in late February.

HMD Global is gearing up to announce a range of Nokia smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2018. For example the Nokia 808 PureView was the first smartphone to launch with a 41MP camera, and it seems that Nokia could be interested in furthering their camera efforts. The Nokia 8 already brought a clear example of the partnership by offering an enhanced dual camera setup that features optical image stabilisation, monochrome sensor, wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens. But from the previous leaks, the company could reveal Nokia 9, Nokia 1 Android Go and a revamped Nokia 8.

The handset, which has been dubbed the Nokia 10, is expected to feature five high-resolution lenses, a dual-LED flash and a rear-facing fingerprint reader.
