Why Trump is using a new nickname: 'Sneaky' Dianne Feinstein

Glenn R. Simpson former Wall Street Journal journalist and co-founder of the research firm Fusion GPS during his arrival for a scheduled appearance before a closed House Intelligence Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington Tuesday Nov. 14 201

Feinstein - against the wishes of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) - on Tuesday morning released the full transcript of an interview in August with Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of Fusion GPS, the firm hired by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to dig up dirt on Trump's ties with Russian Federation.

By the time the FBI sat down in September 2016 for a full interview with the ex-British spy who had been researching Donald Trump's Russian Federation connections, the bureau had already received information raising concerns about possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, according to a transcript made public Tuesday.

He then said Feinstein, who is seeking another term, "Must have tough Primary!"

Feinstein released the testimony without consulting Judiciary chairman Senator Charles Grassley, or any other Republicans on the committee, all of whom were understandably troubled by Feinstein's action. So yes, the release of the transcript by the committee's top Democrat, Dianne Feinstein, is in a sense kind of returned fire.

"There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, & yet on and on it goes", he wrote on Twitter.

The testimony was taken in August 2017, during which Simpson discussed Fusion GPS' role in producing the discredited "Trump dossier". Dianne Feinstein of California.

President Trump's longtime attorney is suing the research firm that compiled the infamous Russian Federation dossier on President Trump and the news website BuzzFeed, which published it.

"People will be more reserved about cooperating", and voluntarily coming forward to interview, Grassley said.

"Listen, I screw up regularly and she doesn't owe me an apology", Grassley said.

That inquiry ended in the spring 2016 but then another client engaged Fusion to conduct research on Trump. Also at this time, Peter Strzok, an FBI agent involved in the Clinton and Trump investigations, had sent a number of pro-Clinton text messages to a fellow FBI employee, including one discussing an "insurance policy" against Trump. The Washington Post said the committee has been probing charges that the Trump campaign "coordinated with the Kremlin", escalating the issue from mere "collusion". "Keeping the reporting process wrapped in mystery only helps those who oppose the free press", said Smith.

She said she had taken the step because of the "innuendo and misinformation" circulating about Fusion GPS, which were "part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice".

Increasingly, the Democrats and Republicans on the committee are going in different directions - with Grassley moving to investigate matters involving Clinton when she was secretary of state, and Feinstein concentrating on Russian interference in the 2016 election. "Its interest to the public is obvious", Buzzfeed spokesman Matt Mittenthal said in a statement.
