This has led to the issuance of a First Alert Weather Day for Saturday for all of our KTRE viewing area.
We should bottom out in the low 50s by the morning and reach the low 60s getting into the afternoon. The line of storms will arrive between 2-4 AM, so don't be surprised to be woken up by a few rumbles of thunder tonight. The most severe storms at this time are lifting north into Tennessee and Kentucky.
A line of storms will be just ahead of a cold front, BUT there is the possibility of a few individual strong storms (called super-cells) to develop out ahead of that line. By sunrise tomorrow, the front will have stalled right over us, setting up a soggy Sunday with showers continuing.
Flash flooding is defined as is defined as the rapid rise in water, typically within a three to six-hour window, that can produce property-and life-threatening hazards in normally dry areas. This rainmaker will exit early Monday, with lingering clouds in the morning. Much the same can be expected Tuesday, with temperatures touching up a tad.
As we move into the month of March, a notable change in the overall weather pattern is expected to take place that will ultimately bring temperatures down closer to where they should be at this time of year. These excessive rains can result in flash flooding and can sometimes occur over relatively broad areas.
