Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz shown fighting students in 2016

On Sunday, the teen remained in a bed, his face swollen and his body tethered to IV and oxygen tubes.

He took a business card and was figuring out what his health insurance could cover, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Cruz allegedly killed at least 17 people inside his former school on Valentines Day, where he wounded about 14 others. At a rally on Saturday, survivors of the school shooting demanded politicians stop accepting money from the National Rifle Association. "It's his right to own a gun".

He accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation of "spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the (2016) Trump campaign".

Emma Gonzalez: "If the president wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a awful tragedy and how it should never have happened, and maintains telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I'm going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association".

Just days after surviving the 9th deadliest shooting in modern United States history, several students have given powerful speeches and compelling TV interviews, voicing their desire to break the continuous loop of massacres.

The couple last saw Cruz at the Broward County Sheriff's office.

They plan to converge at the nation's capital next month and have asked supporters who can't make it to stage marches in their own communities, according to a mission statement for March For Our Lives. "The Sneads have since seen paperwork they think supports the claim he was going to be very financially comfortable", the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Nikolas Cruz, 19, killed fifteen people in a hail of gunfire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

The school district has also proposed tearing down the building where the shooting happened, Parkland Mayor Christine Hunschofsky said.

"You're the president. You're supposed to bring this nation together, not divide us", said David Hogg, a 17-year-old student at the high school, speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press". Cruz was reportedly handed a two-day suspension following the incident. In some of these events, the schools have closed or gone into lockdown.

"I'd met him a couple times before", he said, adding Cruz "stayed at the house with my son, spent the night". But the agency said Friday that agents failed to investigate.

The FBI said a person close to Cruz called the FBI's tip line and provided information about Cruz's weapons and his erratic behavior. "And I had control over it", James Snead recounts, adding on one occasion he had told Cruz he wasn't allowed to access the weapons. He is being held without bond in Broward County. People who knew Nikolas said he had taken the loss of his adoptive mother hard.
