CM Punk Seemingly Confirms He's Fighting At UFC 225 In Chicago

The 39-year-old was easily beaten by Mickey Gall in 2016 and has not fought since

It's been rumored for a while now, and where there's smoke, there's more often than not fire.

As expected, the former professional wrestling superstar for the WWE, Phil "CM Punk" Brooks will be giving MMA another go after his awful debut back at UFC 203 in September of 2016. And all evidence pointed to an appearance in his home town of Chicago, which the UFC will be visiting in June.

The UFC 225 pay-per-view event is scheduled to go down on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The CM Punk MMA show isn't over just yet. If Punk's statement is to be taken at face value, he'll be fighting at the event.

Punk was clapping back at trolls on Twitter when he broke the news. responding to someone who asked, "When are we gonna see you cry again in the octagon?"

Punk's signing in 2014 turned a lot of heads in the MMA world.

Punk landed all six of his shots in the clinch, but Gall threw sharp elbows early in the first round that opened up his opponent. Unfortunately for Jackson, he suffered a loss to Mickey Gall, who then moved on to submit Punk at UFC 203 in Cleveland. The fight ended in the first round, with Punk forced to tap to a rear-naked choke.

UFC President Dana White initially shot down the rumor, saying on an episode of UFC Tonight that no deal was in place.

The ongoing theory is that Punk's opponent will be Texas fight Mike "The Truth" Jackson (0-1), who lost to Gall back in February 2016.
