Nicole Kidman Reuniting With 'Big Little Lies' Producers For New HBO Series

They had big success with Big Little Lies, so it's hardly surprising that Nicole Kidman and writer/producer David E. Kelley are looking to work together on other things.

While that will likely be first on the docket, it seems that Kidman and Kelley are set to venture off into another television adaptation of a novel, this time turning You Should Have Known, by Jean Hanff Korelitz, into what will likely be another big event series for HBO. But her life is rocked by a series of tragedies: a violent death, the disappearance of her husband and "a chain of awful revelations" about the man she thought she knew. Left to pick up the pieces after the "very public disaster", Grace "must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself" - and face the horror she feels in knowing she failed to heed her own warnings.

Kelley is set to write the script as well as executive produce and run the project whilst Per Saari, of Blossom Films, will also executive produce alongside Bruna Papandrea from Made Up Stories. Kelly will serve as executive producer, writer, and showrunner. A search for a director is under way.

"We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David", said HBO programming president Casey Bloys. Check, and congratulations, you've completed the Roles I'd Like To See Nicole Kidman Play scorecard.

Kelley added, "I loved this book, a character-driven psychological thriller". Witherspoon teamed with Kerry Washington to topline and executive produce Little Fires Everywhere, which just landed at Hulu with an eight-episode straight-to-series order. A network is not yet attached.

Kidman won an Emmy for her performance in Big Little Lies.

"David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center", said Kidman.

Kelley is repped by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.
