Erdogan threatens Kosovo's PM, says Haradinaj will pay a price

Speaking in his party's congress in Hatay in the southeastern part of Turkey, the Turkish president said that "the sacking of the head of the Intelligence Agency and the Interior minister, who delivered us the members of the terrorist organization, FETO, is a historical mistake, because they did their job".

It was not immediately clear when replacements would be named for Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj and secret service chief Driton Gashi.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday again accused Kosovo's Prime Minister of "protecting terrorists" in the row over the rapid deportation of six Turks from Kosovo to Turkey. "I am informed by the competent authorities after the event that six citizens were deported today to Turkey on the grounds that they did not have a residence permit in Kosovo".

Ankara alleged the six men were members of US-based Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen's Islamic movement.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo has not reacted about the declaration issued by the Turkish president, while the Assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli wrote in a posting on Facebook, that he was surprised by the declarations made by the Turkish president against PM Ramush Haradinaj, at a time when institutions of Kosovo are investigating on this case.

Ankara accused the six arrested men of being recruiters for a network run by the US -based cleric Fethullah Gulen, and said they had helped people accused of connections to the network to leave Turkey.

At its peak, the Gulen movement operated schools in 160 countries from Afghanistan to the United States.

France does not have the right to complain about the actions of any armed group on its soil after meeting with the representatives of the PYD and the YPG, the Turkish leader said.

Turkish state news agency Anadolu described the men as senior individuals in the Gulen movement.

"In addition to the questionable arrests, the men were sent to a country where they face a serious risk of torture", HRW said in a statement. "We thought we were safe in Kosovo".

Relatives of the six had stayed at Pristina airport until early on Saturday after rumours spread that they might still be in Kosovo.

"It certainly will hurt Kosovo, both for throwing doubt on the rule of law and political authority and for cooperation with a regime that is authoritarian and increasingly antagonistic with the EU", Bieber told Reuters.
