George, Mitchell uncertain for Game 2 of Thunder-Jazz

Playoff stage proving to be no problem for Donovan Mitchell

Having won the first game, the Thunder looked likely to go up 2-0 in a playoff series for the first time since 2013, but a cold fourth quarter cost them.

Oklahoma City had two chances in the final minute to trim Utah's lead with the Jazz leading 99-95, but Anthony missed 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions.

On Wednesday, the Utah Jazz did what the Minnesota Timberwolves could not - steal a road playoff game - and Donovan Mitchell certainly took note.

The Rookie of the Year candidate who averaged 20.5 points during the season had 27 points and 10 rebounds in Utah's game-one loss. He played just 22 minutes, scoring nine points and reeling in seven rebounds.

Utah guard Donovanan Mitchell scored a game-high 28 points, nearly half of them in the final quarter as the Jazz produced a big finish after trailing by five at the last break.

Defensively, he was a key figure in OKC star Russell Westbrook going 7 of 19 from the field.

Now the series will shift back to Utah for Game 3, which will tip-off at 10 PM ET on Saturday night. Thunder head coach Billy Donovan told reporters on Tuesday his status for the game would be dependent on how he felt after shootaround. The Thunder were held to 40 percent shooting for the night with 18 points for George, 19 from Westbrook and 17 from Anthony. OKC turned the ball over nine times in the opening quarter but trailed just 26-25 behind 10 points by Westbrook.

Thunder: George played through a bruised right hip. F Jerami Grant scored 13 points. Things were much different on Wednesday when Harden had just 12 points as one of four Rockets who finished in double figures. Utah had nine offensive rebounds in the first half, six of those by Favors. The trio combined to score only two points on 0-for-16 shooting in the fourth quarter. "So, I think that's probably going to be a little bit more of his decision on how he's feeling in terms of the way he's moving".
