#Kathua: BJP accepts resignation of its two J&K ministers

Protestors block the Jammu Pathankot highway in Kathua during the Jammu Bandh on Wednesday

Protests are being held across the country to seek justice for the 8-year-old who was raped and killed. The ministers have allegedly participated a rally in support of the people arrested in connection with the rape. She also wrote to the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, requesting that a special fast track court be set up to conclude the trial in three months in the case.

The J&K government also made a decision to terminate the accused policemen from his service. Her body was recovered a week later in some bushes, not far from her home in Rasana village of Kathua district in Jammu region.

Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal continued her hunger strike for the second day today demanding the government take concrete actions to curb sexual crimes against women. "We want justice to the poor departed soul whereas it is evident that the fringe elements are making it communal under an agenda", he said.

Madhav, who attened the legislative party meeting of the state BJP MLAs and MLC, said state party president Sat Sharma will send the resignations to the chief minister. "The way the people of this country adopted [the girl], the way they raised their voice, the way they helped us uphold the credibility of the investigation..."

April 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader and party In-Charge of Jammu and Kashmir Ram Madhav refuted the reports of strain in the alliance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The ruling PDP thanked the BJP leadership for taking resignations of the two leaders.

After facing severe criticism from the people and Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence and said that the culprits behind the both rape cases will be punished.

Police said they have taken cognizance of Hussain's complaint and started investigations. She was held captive inside a temple, and was sedated and again raped thrice before being bludgeoned to death. "They are calling me anti-national and anti-Jammu; I am not an alien, I am from Jammu", she added.

He arrived here earlier on Saturday to chair a Bharatiya Janata Party legislature meet at the party headquarters.

Also, if the two BJP ministers from Jammu and Kashmir were merely being misled, then where was the need to sack them from the cabinet?
