Mom accused of letting 2-year-old smoke meth, marijuana

On January 12, 2018, detectives at the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office started a child abuse investigation after it was alleged that Kaitlyn Ecker, 20, had involved a two-year old child in methamphetamine and marijuana use inside her home.

The sheriff's office did not elaborate on the relationship between Ecker and the child, but The Miami Herald reported the 2-year-old was Ecker's daughter. Instead, Limpert "proceeded to place [the child] into their backyard pool to use the cold water to "shock" her", the police report said. On Friday she was in the Wakulla County Jail for a much more serious alleged offense. Witnesses told detectives that the child smoked marijuana with Ecker and "joked" that the toddler knew how to "roll joints".

A Florida mother is facing charges for letting her daughter smoke pot and meth after the 2-year-old child was tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, investigators said.

Ecker's Crawfordville home was searched by authorities on January 19.

When authorities executed a search warrant on Ecker's home on January 19, they said they found several items "consistent with marijuana and methamphetamine use", including two glass methamphetamine pipes, each with residue inside; a plastic pill bottle converted into a handmade smoking device with burned residue; two marijuana grinders, one of which had marijuana inside; a digital scale; and a small plastic bag containing marijuana residue located within a basket containing children's toys.

Ecker was arrested on child abuse charges Thursday. The reports did not say exactly where the child had been taken after Ecker's arrest, and it was not clear if the mother was granted bail.

Investigators arrested Autumn Sienna Heinz, 30, Tuesday on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child, drug possession and criminal mischief, reported The Missoulian. Authorities also executed a search warrant for a blood and hair sample from Ecker and the two-year-old child.

The results of the blood and hair tests came back in March and showed that the 2-year-old child tested positive for both methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Police said the mother admitted to smoking both drugs, but denied doing so in front of her child.

Ecker was charged with misdemeanor cannabis possession and possession of paraphernalia at the time.
