NBA Draft: South Carolina's Brian Bowen reportedly declares for draft

NBA announces G League base salary raises

"My goal is still to play college basketball, but I felt as though it makes sense to cover my bases".

Like Silva, Bowen will have until June 11 to withdraw his name from the draft in order to return to SC.

Shortly after the complaints, which were the result of a multiyear FBI investigation into college basketball recruiting, became public, Bowen was suspended by Louisville. But if he is not cleared, Bowen said he would declare for the draft without signing with an agent to preserve his collegiate status. Adidas executives are facing charges of sending $100,000 to Bowen's family in exchanged for Bowen coming to Louisville. The coach that recruited Bowen to Louisville, Rick Pitino, was sacked and Bowen, despite being cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, never ended up playing for the Cardinals.

'We got lucky on this one, ' Pitino told Terry Meiners of News Radio 840 soon after. I said 'Yeah, I'd be really interested.' They had to come in unofficially, pay for their hotel, pay for their meals.

"I want to thank my family, my teammates, my coaches and all of our fantastic fans at the University of SC for all of the support I've received so far during my time as a Gamecock". If the NCAA doesn't decide on Bowen's fate by that deadline, Bowen will have a very hard decision to make. "We're hopeful and have faith that the NCAA will make the right decision and allow Brian to play next season for SC, but he'll also have the opportunity to be drafted if that doesn't happen".

Unfortunately, because he has not played since the 2017 McDonald's All-American Game, NBA talent evaluators do not have much material to evaluate him.

"This is a mature move from Brian", Setchen told ESPN. With that being said, Bowen may be able to get some feedback at the combine, which is more than he's gotten in the past year.
