Shania Twain Says She Would Have Voted for Trump

Shania Twain Apologizes After Saying She Would've Voted For Trump

Shania Twain is opening up about her politics. "Do you want straight or polite?", the singer explained.

With such an honest and pragmatic view of men and the world around her, you might be surprised to find out that Twain just revealed she was impressed by Donald Trump. And as we wrote earlier today, while Shania Twain might be foremost known as a country music star, and country music might enjoy a largely Republican fanbase, she has long-embraced her gay icon status and feminist credentials, representative of two groups of people (among several) that are worse off under the Trump administration. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. "Not that you shouldn't be able to have both", she said in the article.

"I did want a break. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?" she explained.

Honestly, why does Trump ruin EVERYTHING.

So Twain may need to do some much-needed research before she keeps labeling Trump as "honest".

The singer, who enjoys a large LGBTQ fan base and appeared on an episode of "RuPaul's Drag Race" last week, quickly lit up social media with her remarks.

Michaels told Twain, "You were my idol when I was younger. I hated her, so that's the best word to use when you hate somebody". Elsewhere in the conversation, she is vulnerable and reflective about her abusive childhood, and years removed from an industry she once dominated, a hiatus during which she stopped performing for seven years, survived a nasty and high-profile divorce, re-married, published a memoir, cameo'd in Broad City, and eventually started writing music again.

"It's so hard to face your fears and I think a lot of people in this day and age are hopefully getting more comfortable with who they are and who are they are in their own skin", Twain answered.

"I saw Shania Twain trending and thought she was dead".
