In a chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police concerning Union Minister Smriti Irani's stalking case, the police have named 4 students from Delhi University for allegedly misbehaving and stalking the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) minister.

The four men, who are students of the Ram Lal College, were drunk when they started following Irani's vehicle in Delhi's Lutyens.

The four accused have been booked for stalking, criminal intimidation and intention to insult modesty of a woman.

The incident is said to have taken place previous year when Smriti Irani was on her way back home to Chanakyapuri from Delhi IGI Airport. On their way back home, they started chasing down Smriti Irani's vehicle. The students, in the age group of 18-19 years, had been detained at Chanakyapuri police station.

According to the medical report, they were first detained for interrogation at the Chanakyapuri police station and later the four tested positive for alcohol, confirming that they were intoxicated while trying to overtake the Union Minister's vehicle.

They even tried to overtake her auto. However, the accused were later released on bail. "We apologise for whatever happened", one of them had said.

"We were dancing inside our auto and were making a video for Instagram. We apologized to her on the spot", ANI had quoted one of the students as saying.
