Trump lawyer Cohen denies media report of Prague trip

In the email he wrote'Family is one of life's most wonderful pleasures and serving as America's First Family has been a truly great privilege! This month our family is looking forward to a very special day

Michael Cohen, President Trump's attorney, is to appear Monday at a court hearing in New York City.

President Donald Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen are in the process of fighting the government's review of files the Federal Bureau of Investigation seized pursuant to search warrants on Cohen's office and home.

One of his lawyers - not too deflated to work - filed a request with the relevant court the same night, asking that the Trump legal team be allowed access to the confiscated records as the only effective way to safeguard the president's right to attorney-client privilege. Trump said he was unaware of the payment and the White House had said Trump denies that the one-time sexual encounter took place.

Daniels, dressed in a pink suit, turned heads as she made a grand entrance into the courtroom just before the start of the hearing.

"Unlike a search of a traditional law office, the information gathered thus far in the investigation suggests that the overwhelming majority of evidence seized during the searches will not be privileged material, but rather will relate to Cohen's business dealings".

Prosecutors contend that Cohen was "performing little to no legal work" for Trump.

Cohen was the target of an Federal Bureau of Investigation raid last week, and the person who paid Daniels $130,000 on the eve of the 2016 presidential election.

Court papers indicate President Trump's personal attorney has been the subject of a months-long investigation and that numerous crimes he is suspected of have "nothing to do with his work as an attorney"; chief White House correspondent John Roberts reports. McKay stressed that the team of government lawyers who would review the seized material would be "walled off" from their colleagues, like himself, who are pursuing the criminal inquiry against Cohen.

But the filing contains the first details released by the Justice Department on the searches, which covered Cohen's residence, hotel room, office, safety deposit boxes and two cell phones.

"A judge on Friday ordered that Cohen be present at Monday's hearing so that he could answer questions about his clients".

The Department of Justice announced Friday that Cohen had been "under criminal investigation" for months in NY relating to his business dealings. Mueller's team recently told Trump's lawyers that he is a subject of the investigation, but not a criminal target. Stormy Daniels, who says she received $130,000 from Cohen to keep quiet about an affair with Trump, is also expected to be in attendance.

Judge Wood said that if Cohen wanted the court to declare that some of his files were protected because of attorney confidentiality rules, he would have to divulge the name of his clients. All lawyers are deflated and concerned!'

Mr. Trump, who in the last month has escalated his attacks on Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation, said it was a "disgrace" that the FBI "broke into" his lawyer's office.

Cohen's attorneys followed up with another request on Monday morning for federal Judge Kimba Wood to appoint an independent outside lawyer to review the evidence in the case - a "special master", as opposed to the government's "clean team".
