Trump on possibility of firing Mueller and Rosenstein: 'They're still here'

Embargo Pittsburgh PA** Pittsburgh police ordered its detectives to bring riot gear to work Thursday in anticipation of protests should President Donald Trump fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller

Trump has publicly criticized Mueller, who is investigating potential ties between Russian Federation and Trump's 2016 campaign and possible obstruction of justice.

On Wednesday morning, Pittsburgh Police Commander Victor Joseph sent an email to the city's detectives instructing them to begin preparing for a possible protest in the event the Trump Administration moves to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

"They've been saying I'm going to get rid of them for the last three months, four months, five months", Trump said Wednesday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

"I think it's a disgrace what's going on".

The Pittsburgh police department has reportedly alerted its officers and detectives of potential protests if President Donald Trump fires the special counsel Robert Mueller, and is preparing for riots if he does.

It would appear, once again, that the firing claims were overblown, as many noted this would cause a political natural disaster that's not worth the administration's time. "But I think it's really a sad situation when you look at what happened".

"There was no collusion - and that's been so found by the House Intelligence Committee - other than by the Democrats", he said.

Trump also called the Mueller probe a "hoax" cooked up by Democrats to cover for their embarrassing election loss at least twice, and noted that Democrats had a tremendous built-in advantage in the Electoral College.

"As far as the investigation, nobody has ever been more transparent", he said during a news conference with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. We want to get the investigation over with, done with, put it behind us. "We have given them 1.4 million pages of documents, and haven't used - as I know of for the most part - presidential powers or privilege".

Trump met with Rosenstein on Friday in an encounter that the president's advisers hoped would cool tensions over the investigation.

"We'll see what happens" is what Trump said in reference to Mueller possibly being fired, setting off panic on the Hill.
