Airtel to offer post FUP speed of 128Kbps on Unlimited Prepaid Packs

BSNL's Rs 118 prepaid plan is no match for Reliance Jio's 98 bundle

Airtel subscribers who have opted for unlimited prepaid plans are eligible for the post FUP data speed of 128Kbps, reports TelecomTalk. Similarly, BSNL is now offering 128Kbps speed once the FUP limit is over. Now, the state-run telecom operator has a new plan to take on Reliance Jio and others. The unlimited calls include all local calls, all std calls and all roaming incoming, outgoing calls.

In addition to the voice calling benefit, users get 1GB data for the validity of the plan that is 28 days.

Airtel Rs 499 plan: Airtel offers unlimited voice calls, free-roaming outgoing and incoming, 100 local/national SMS a day and 2GB data per day for 82 days.

The BSNL scheme will be valid for 28 days and users will be entitled to 1GB of 3G data every day. Earlier, if the data limit was reached, the subscriber either had to wait for the clock to strike 12 AM or buy a small recharge plan. The introduction of this pack is can be seen as BSNL's attempt to take on Reliance Jio's Rs 98 recharge pack that provides nearly similar incentives. This means that if you've recharged your prepaid account with a data-only pack or a usual unlimited pack that offers a certain amount of data on a monthly basis, you will be charged for each KB consumed post the given data limit. The 98 plan of Jio offers all local calls free, all std calls free and all roaming calls free. You also get a caller tune and 300 SMSes without spending a penny. The validity of the plan is 28 days. The executive further said that an Airtel prepaid user with a recharge pack of Rs 199 and above will continue to receive data at 128 Kbps after exhausting the daily data limit.

The best part of Jio plan 98 as compared to BSNL 118 plan is the unlimited data usage after the high-speed data usage limit.

BSNL is also offering plans like Rs 39, Rs 99, Rs 319 and Rs 349 recharge pack to it's customers. The second thing is the 4G connectivity.
