Arab ministers to meet over 'Israeli aggression on Palestinians'

Monday was the deadliest day in the region since the 2014 Gaza war, as 60 Palestinians were killed and more than 2,700 wounded amid protests over the United States embassy's move to Jerusalem.

"Israel's in a tough situation". "Every casualty on the border is a victim of Hamas' war crimes, every death is a result of Hamas' terror activity, and these casualties are exclusively Hamas' responsibility", Danon said in a statement.

Hoyer, the minority whip, was referring to a threat he claimed Israel faces from Hamas.

Saying that Hamas had incited people to lob flaming objects toward the Israeli side of the border fence and urged protest marchers to breach it, Haley asked: "Who among us would accept this type of activity on your border?"

Monday's violence took place as the USA opened its new embassy in Jerusalem.

60 people have died following Monday's clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli troops.

MICHELE KELEMEN, BYLINE: U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley says she believes the council should spend more time talking about Iran's misbehavior in the region rather than singling out Israel, which she argues is acting with restraint. She walked out of the room when the Palestinian delegation spoke.

As the violence raged on, Hamas has escalated its campaign against Israel, calling on the Palestinian Authority that controls the West Bank to cancel the 1990s Oslo agreements and for Palestinians to stage a third intifada or "uprising".

"We are a nation that deserves a land to live on, and they're eating it up", she said.

Ahmed Bshara, a student from the Israeli city of Nazareth, said that he had hope for a two-state solution until President Donald Trump was elected.

The envoys from China, Sweden, and the Netherlands also went out of their way to reiterate their government's position that Jerusalem's status should be left to negotiations and their intention to keep their embassies in Tel Aviv. It's been the capital.

Protesters said they wanted Israel to stop what they called a "massacre" in Gaza.

Tuesday's meeting came amid growing diplomatic fallout from the violence and the USA embassy move.

However, I suspect Turkey's move is related to the fact that its current head, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, wants to build Ottoman Empire v 2.0.

The U.S. says it has the right to decide where to put its embassy, and Haley said Tuesday the decision simply recognized "reality". The Palestinian ambassador Riyad Mansour accuses the US of helping Israel act as if it's above the law. Most experts agree that any future Palestinian state would include East Jerusalem.

Palestinian demonstrators in Gaza have challenged Israel's half-century occupation.

Israel said it is defending its border and accuses Hamas of trying to carry out attacks under the cover of the protests. They're powerless in Palestine, they're hopeless.

Hoyer's defense of Israel also came despite growing progressive criticism of Israeli human rights abuses.

Boyd Barrett also called for the immediate expulsion of the Israeli ambassador to Ireland, a call that was taken up by other speakers at the event and the crowd.

Mr Varadkar condemned the Israeli actions and the border yesterday.
