Born bishop to preach at royal wedding

In the sermon, Curry, who was then the bishop of North Carolina, quoted several versions of the Bible characterizing Jesus as someone who was thought to be out of his mind.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markles relationship is transatlantic, and now their wedding ceremony will be too.

It's recently been announced by the Kensington Palace that Bishop Michael Curry, the first Afircan-American man to preside over the Episcopal Church, will be delivering a sermon at the royal wedding.

"The love that has brought and will bind Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle together has its source and origin in God, and is the key to life and happiness", Presiding Bishop Curry said, per the press release.

The royal wedding is to gain another transatlantic twist with the decision by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to invite the head of the historic Anglican church in America to give the address.

One royal fan tweeted: "Having an American clergyman participate is great news".

She is understood to have chosen to join the Church of England out of respect for the role Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II has as supreme governor of the Anglican Communion's mother church.

The Episcopal Church is an offshoot of the Church of England in the United States.

Welby said on Twitter that he was thrilled the couple selected Curry to give the address.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Canterbury previously admitted he is listening to Stormzy to calm his nerves ahead of the upcoming royal wedding. "Some of this has been very public - the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment piece; and the outright sexism and racism social media trolls and web article comments", it said, adding that Prince Harry "is anxious about Ms. Markles safety".
