Donald Trump, Mike Pence Decry 'Unprecedented Obstruction from Democrats' at Indiana Rally

In his campaign, Braun identified himself as a career businessman rather than career politician; which is what he called his opponents.

When President Donald Trump travels, so does Trump Nation.

Or, he told the crowd, you can send us Mike Braun.

Hoosiers will have quite the mixed bag of candidates when November's election comes around after a whirlwind May Primary.

Students at the University of Sussex in England voted to support the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, .

Hoosiers throughout IN are proud to stand with President Trump as he works to shake-up business as usual IN Washington.

In North Carolina, Republican Rep. Walter Jones, a 12-term congressman, survived a three-way primary in the 3rd Congressional District, and Republican Rep. Robert Pittenger came out on the losing end of a primary race against the Rev. Mark Harris in the 9th Congressional District.

The candidates also highlight a shift in the Republican Party to embrace more populist, nativist and protectionist candidates skeptical of immigration and free trade - a seismic change from the party's traditional alliance of social conservatives and free-marketeers.

WISH-TV's David Williams said it felt like a party early Tuesday night inside the Brickyard Crossing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita and his supporters gathered to watch election results roll in with excitement.

Republican leaders are nervously watching the West Virginia primary where former coal executive Don Blankenship has centered his candidacy around attacking Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Braun said, "You can count on me to be a true reinforcement and the guy that is gonna retire Joe Donnelly".

The other candidates in the race are US Representative Evan Jenkins and state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. I know Joe. You know Joe.

"How lengthy do I've to be in politics to get a go well with like that", Braun jokes within the advert. While Gibbons has played the Trump card, however, Renacci snagged the president's endorsement.

Braun's victory was an outcome few expected when he launched his campaign in August against the more established political brands of Messer and Rokita.

Braun will face Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly in an election already drawing national attention from both parties as one of the keys to control of the Senate.

Instead, Braun is a businessman outsider who likes President Trump, is an effective campaigner, and has a history of voting in Democratic primaries in his blue-ish corner of Indiana.

"The Democrats, who are just obstructionists - that's all they can do - have had a lock on the Hispanic vote...and the African American vote".

ELKHART, Indiana - President Donald Trump speaks to supporters at a campaign rally on May 10, 2018 in Elkhart, Indiana.

Braun notably released an ad in which he carried around life-sized cutouts of Rokita and Messer, and asked people in the street to identify the congressmen.

"America is being respected again", Trump proclaimed to cheers inside a packed middle school gymnasium. Democratic Sen. Frank Mrvan of Hammond easily defeated two challengers.

Trump arrived in IN during a week that has been dominated by his foreign policy decisions.

According to political insiders, this means the race could set a new record by topping $100 million.

Messer wanted to be seen as the most trustworthy candidate, and Rokita often said he was only one that could beat Donnelly in November.
