Far Cry 5's Hours of Darkness DLC lands on June 5

Far Cry 5

Game publisher Ubisoft recently announced the first DLC for Far Cry 5: Hours of Darkness. The expansion will move the game from Hope County to the sweltering jungles of the Vietnam War, where local boy Wendell "Red" Redler will embark upon a mission to rescued his captured comrades.

Playable in solo and online co-op, you'll be fighting through unsafe jungles to rescue imprisoned squad mates while battling the Vietcong and North Vietnamese Army. Additionally, Ubisoft has also released the soundtrack for Hours of Darkness. The DLC will not only feature new gear and abilities but will have two different playable models that will be unlocked after completing Hours of Darkness. The teaser trailer below gives a little glimpse of what to expect, but for now that's all we have as far as details and gameplay goes.

You can now get Hours of Darkness alone for $12 and it will be free for you if you have a $30 Season Pass or $90 Gold Edition. Survivor mode will limit player loadouts for a greater challenge and, at the other extreme, Action Movie mode will allow for a very generous loadout for OTT game action. That, and all future theme-based DLC assets will be added to Arcade for free to all players.

Hours of Darkness can be purchased as a standalone DLC for $11.99 Dollars or as part of the Far Cry 5 Season Pass for $29.99 and Gold Edition for $89.99. Two more expansions will follow Hours of Darkness, including Lost On Mars (in which you fight aliens on Mars) and Dead Living Zombies (in which you fight zombies). It is oming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 5th. Each can be brought as a standalone download, or be enjoyed as part of the Far Cry 5 Season Pass. All of the Vietnam assets will be available in the arcade mode for DLC owners and non-owners alike on May 24.

If you have not grabbed Far Cry 5 yet, you can purchase a copy on Amazon.
