Fulham boss ready to use ‘important weapon’ against Aston Villa

It has been suggested he would want to have a clause included saying he would not...

The West Midlands outfit will take on Fulham on Saturday in the play-off final, with a spot in next season's top flight up for grabs.

Terry's contract with the club is sent to end this summer but has the opportunity to extend his stay by an extra 12 months if he chooses.

The former England captain chose to join Villa over several Premier League suitors last summer, in part because of his reluctance to face Chelsea, where he played for 19 seasons.

In contrast, Fulham, who finished five points above Villa, are a young team driven by the precocious talent of 18-year-old wing-back Ryan Sessegnon.

"I have loved my time here (at Fulham) and I don't know what will happen after, right now I'm just focused on Saturday (for the play-off final) and then the World Cup".

"I don't even like to lose when I'm playing video games with my brother, when I do lose I get really mad".

This is one way for Terry to avoid an awkward moment.

.

"Over the course of two years now, the confidence that the manager has not only given myself but the entire team and the ability and the freedom to go and play no matter the situation has just brought the best out of us and I am no different".

Terry is certain to start on Saturday, with Steve Bruce likely to pick the ex-England global alongside James Chester.

"He has been one of the great defenders of our country".

Villa are hoping to agree a new deal with Terry, to keep him at the club for the long-term. We are going to follow our style and be confident we will cross the line. He plays in a complicated position. We are going to try to put against Terry some fast and some stronger players.

I have a contract and that's it.

"But the substitutes can be match-winners too and I think the players have understood that".

"I needed the game time and to be on the pitch to score goals, I feel good and haven't been in better shape in my career".
