Gary Rowett says Derby lacked composure in play-off defeat to Fulham

Boy wonder Sessegnon celebrates his equaliser with Stefan Johansen

Fulham booked their place in the Championship play-off final at Wembley after overturning a first-leg deficit to beat Derby at Craven Cottage.

"A draw will take us through, but I don't think that you can play for a draw". "I see so many words in the newspapers, the media, talking about him but he has both feet on the ground".

English wingback Sessegnon, 17 - whose performances have attracted the attention of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and French champions Paris Saint-Germain - brought the tie level two minutes into the second-half with his 16th goal of the season, before his corner was headed home by centre-back Denis Odoi in the 66th minute.

'Hopefully we'll get to the Premier League'. I like to play my normal game and I don't let other people bother me.

The onslaught continued and 19 minutes later the hosts found the goal that put Wembley in sight when Odoi climbed highest from a corner to head home into the far corner.

The defeat marked the second time in three seasons that the Rams have fallen at this stage and the former Birmingham and Burton manager said that his side's decision making was to blame.

Gary Rowett accepts his side found it hard to contain Fulham in the second leg.

'I can't fault the effort or character but we didn't show enough quality.

Sessegnon said afterwards: 'We pushed and pushed and should have scored early in the first half.

'You have to accept that Fulham were better in the second leg and had enough to get through'.

"If we look at the season as a whole, in some ways, numerous things that have disappointed us in the season have just cost us tonight".

A major setback arrived when Sessegnon struck just two minutes after the break, and Rowett was disappointed with the quality of both goals that his side conceded.
