Giuliani is still confused about basic facts of Stormy Daniels hush payment

US President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen leaves the US Courthouse in New York

President Donald Trump has formally disclosed that he reimbursed his personal attorney more than $100,000 a year ago, apparently in connection with the payment of hush money to a porn star, government records show. The leaked document, made public by the lawyer of an adult film actress who received a $130,000 payout from Cohen after she claimed to have had an affair with Trump, showed Cohen made almost $1 million between September 2017 to January 2018 from various sources.

The disclosure has raised fresh questions as to whether the payment covered hush money to silence Stormy Daniels, a former porn star who claims to have had an affair with Trump.

More recently, former NY mayor Rudy Giuliani - newly hired as part of Trump's legal team - said in interviews that Trump had reimbursed Cohen for the payment.

"In the interest of transparency, while not required to be disclosed as "reportable liabilities" on part 8, in 2016 expenses were incurred by one of Donald J. Trump's attorneys, Michael Cohen", according to page 45 of the disclosure report.

The disclosure did not specify what the reimbursement was for, and gave just a range: $101,000-$250,000.

The request to Qatar would be the latest such exchange offered by Cohen to be made public following acknowledgements by USA and European companies last week that they paid Cohen, who was Trump's lawyer for about a decade and self-described "fixer" for Trump.

Ms Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tweeted, "Mr Trump's disclosure today conclusively proves that the American people were deceived". "Mr. Trump fully reimbursed Mr. Cohen", the disclosure report said. "Cover-ups should always matter".

Even before entering the White House, Trump's presidential campaign provoked concerns about conflicts of interest. Cohen's attorney Stephen Ryan did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters on the reports. In all, Mr Trump took in at least $453 million from hotels, resorts, books and other business ventures.

The Cohen footnote appears in a report giving the first extended look at the president's income from his properties since he became president. His Doral club, as was the case past year, dwarfed the rest of his golf properties, with revenues of nearly $75 million.

Trump's 2018 report - filed Tuesday and made public Wednesday - also provides insight into the president's still-vast real estate empire, which Trump continues to own while the day-to-day management is handled by his family.

The Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C., which opened during his presidential campaign in 2016, saw $40 million in revenues.

Trump's hotel in the U.S. capital, which opened in late 2016, took in $40.4 million during 2017 while the Florida resort had revenues of $25.1 million previous year. But the president retains ownership of those businesses, through a trust, and can take money out of them at any time.

His report shows that Mr Trump received $64,840 from the Screen Actors Guild pension fund.
