Gwyneth Paltrow reveals Brad Pitt threatened Harvey Weinstein's life

Brad Pitt

During an interview on "The Howard Stern Show", Paltrow, 45, said that she told Pitt, who was her boyfriend at the time, about how Weinstein allegedly had come on to her in a California hotel room.

In a recent radio interview, Paltrow said that Brad Pitt once threatened to kill Weinstein when the two actors were dating in the 90s. She was alone in the room with him and said the pass was "out of the blue".

"(Brad) said, 'If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I'll kill you.' Or something like that", she said.

However, she did not reveal any details as to what Pitt said to Weinstein, until now. Weinstein had hired Paltrow, then 22, as the lead in the Mirmax films Emma and Shakespeare in Love. The incident weirded out the young actress enough that she chose to tell her famous boyfriend about it. Pitt became furious, so much so that he later threatened the producer's life.

Weinstein stands accused by more than 80 women of sexual harassment or assault.

"So what happened was I told Brad right away". Pitt's reps had confirmed the Hamlet confrontation to The Times when Paltrow's claims were first published. "We're on the same team", she says, adding the "American Horror Story" producer is "fantastic" with her two kids, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12, but admits it's not always an easy family adjustment. Paltrow and Pitt were at the opening night of Hamlet on Broadway when Pitt saw Weinstein and made a decision to give him a warning to stay away from his girlfriend. He's a good person. "I thought you were my Uncle Harvey", she recalled thinking after the encounter. The source described Brad as getting in Weinstein's face, poking his chest, and telling him that he would never do that to Gwyneth again. Weinstein, whose downfall kicked off the wide spread of the #MeToo movement, has denied all allegations of non-consensual sexual contact.
