Jason Witten believes Dez Bryant will end up with Packers

Will former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant sign with the Green Bay Packers

On The Adam Schefter Podcast, Witten predicted his former teammate Dez Bryant will end up signing with the Green Bay Packers.

"I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers", Witten said, via the Star-Telegram. "I look for him to go there".

Bryant isn't the man-handler of cornerbacks he used to be and he was never a speed receiver to begin with, but he's still a big, physical receiver who wins at the catch point and will run hard after the catch.

As Witten said, Rodgers is arguably the top quarterback in the league and will find ways to get Bryant the ball. Aaron Rodgers, he throws that back-shoulder throw so well and Dez has great chemistry with a great quarterback that can put the ball wherever he wants.

"I still believe Dez can high-point the football as good as any other receiver in the NFL", Witten added.

The question for the Packers isn't, "Is Dez prime Dez?" but rather "Is Dez better than our other options?"

To be sure, there's room on the depth chart for another starting receiver. Green Bay already has a solid receiving corps even with the recent departure of Nelson who signed with the Oakland Raiders after his release. The two sides are still fighting over signing-bonus money.

The release of Bryant certainly created the thought that Williams' job was safe for the 2018 season, but that's far from the case as his production simply hasn't been there. Sometimes that can be a distraction. That's a vertical passing attack. "You need somebody that can stretch the field and [be] an X factor, and that's Dez Bryant. The Saints and the Packers are kind of the lead dogs right now, in my opinion".

After three-straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2012-14, when Bryant also caught 41 touchdowns, Bryant has struggled over the last three seasons, missing eight games and failing to catch more than 70 passes for 850 yards in all three seasons.
