JUST IN! Lionel Messi speaks with Neymar over transfer to Real Madrid

Lionel Messi has conceded it "would be terrible" if former Barcelona teammate Neymar joined Real Madrid this summer, as the five-time Ballon d'Or victor voiced his opinion on the furious speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future.

"It would be bad because of what Ney means to Barcelona", Messi told Argentina's TyC Sports on Tuesday, reports Efe news agency.

Should Real Madrid wish to actually deliver the "huge blow" to Messi and their rivals at Barcelona, they may have to get past the Emir of Qatar.

It's reported that the loan deal was a strategy from PSG to avoid breaking FIFA's Financial Fair Play rules with the French giants having already spent 222 million euros (£189m) on Neymar.

The 26-year-old underwent surgery on a bone in his right foot in Brazil at the start of March. "All their team moves are very mechanised", he said. He won the Champions League and La Liga.

Messi, who is now in South Africa to face Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns, played for four seasons with Neymar at Barca.

"It's a very hard time, I think it's the most hard I have had because we are so close to my dream, the World Cup".

"If we win, I'll do whatever you want", he said.

"It would make Real Madrid stronger".

"I know that everyone is nervous, but nobody is more anxious than me to go back and nobody is more afraid than me".

"I don't compete with him".

Zinedine Zidane insists "every important player wants to play for Real Madrid", but refused to entertain the idea of launching an audacious bid for Neymar. "It stimulates me to see Real Madrid again in the Champions League final, to see them winning leagues", Messi explained, talking about his rivalry with Ronaldo.
