Melania has kidney surgery

Trump Melania is ‘doing really well’ after kidney surgery

President Donald Trump traveled again Tuesday to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington, where his wife, Melania, is convalescing after a kidney procedure.

First Lady Melania Trump had surgery on Monday morning for what aides called a "benign" kidney condition.

"As her office has stated, the first lady remains in good spirits", Walters said in a statement.

"The procedure was successful and there were no complications", the White House said.

Such a procedure would block the blood supply that feeds the kidney and might be used to stop bleeding from a benign tumor, a small aneurysm or to reverse the growth of such a tumor, according to specialists. She will leave the hospital in 2 or 3 days. "So thank you and she sends her love", the president told the crowd.

"Heading over to Walter Reed Medical Centre to see our great First Lady, Melania".

Lauren A. Wright, Ph.D., is a lecturer in politics and public affairs at Princeton University and the author of "On Behalf of the President: Presidential Spouses and White House Communications Strategy Today".

First ladies accomplish this in a variety of ways, the most notable of which is by promoting their own projects, initiatives meant to positively frame controversial presidential policies under the guise of a valence issue.

Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump tweeted about his wife's condition and thanked people for their support.

Mrs. Trump has, at times, has been noticeably absent from her husband's side but both made a point of displaying affection during last week's Rose Garden event. Trump has acknowledged reimbursing his lawyer for the payment to Stormy Daniels but denies her allegations.

Moreover, word of the diagnosis and the planned surgical procedure never leaked out of a White House defined by constant leaks.

Stephen King found himself in hot water for a tweet many felt was insensitive about first lady Melania Trump's recent surgery.
