Prince William Pays Tribute To Manchester Bombing Victims On One-Year Anniversary

Ariana Grande remembers victims of Manchester bombing on one-year anniversary

Earlier Manchester came together in an emotional day of remembrance, with 800 people attending an afternoon commemoration service at Manchester Cathedral while a one-minute silence - observed nationwide - was held at 2.30pm.

It read: "I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day".

Meanwhile, her manager, Scooter Braun, shared a picture of the cover of Tuesday's (22.05.18) Manchester Evening News newspaper, which featured a heart made of bees and the names of the victims, and wrote on Instagram: "Never forgotten".

Families of those killed as well as survivors of the attack at the Manchester Arena on May 22, 2017, were also at the service, along with rescue workers who were first on the scene of the tragedy. Also on the song sheet was One Last Time, a hit for Grande, who had tweeted: 'Thinking of you all today and every day.

As well as the 22 killed, ten of them aged 19 or under, a further 800 were injured physically or psychologically, and numerous rescue workers have been left traumatized.

Some laid bouquets of flowers in St. Ann's Square; others left hand-written notes on Japanese maples that have been planted to form a "Trees of Hope" trail through the city.

It seems the song continues to provide strength for the city, as the crowd sang during tonight's Albert Square gathering.

So, it seems fitting the crowd remembered the tragic day with music.

"You who were hurt or bereaved 12 months ago today are forever part of Manchester, forever part of us", said bishop of Manchester David Walker.

As images of the victims were displayed on screens, 22 candles burned on the altar, made using the wax from the thousands left at city centre memorials in their memory in the hours after the disaster.

"Today my thoughts and prayers are with those who were lost on that awful night, their loved ones who have so bravely battled to rebuild their lives; those who have courageously fought to overcome physical injury or mental scars; our first responders and emergency services and those volunteers and professionals who are continuing to help this community heal", May wrote.

"We're stronger than we were, we're more together and there is a more palpable sense of community spirit, but underneath the scars are very real and they're very deep", he said.

"We are showing Manchester and the world that we carry on", said Cath Day of the Manchester Survivors Choir. Instead 100 pedestrians and a handful of transport police who rushed to the scene improvised, with T-shirts for tourniquets and crush barriers for stretchers.
