Victor Oladipo Named Finalist for Most Improved Player

Houston's James Harden, Cleveland's LeBron James and Anthony Davis of New Orleans are the finalists for the NBA's Most Valuable Player award.

The awards will be voted by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, while fans will get to vote for several awards as well.

Harden is considered the front runner for the award.

In a season that was anything but normal for the Cavaliers, James elevated his game to an fantastic level. He led the National Basketball Association in scoring, averaging 30.4 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.8 steals.

At 33, James would be the oldest player to win the award since 35-year-old Karl Malone did so in 1998-99. Harden and James are now playing in their conference finals. "The body of work, how I'm doing it, what's been happening with our team all year long, how we've got so many injuries and things of that nature, guys in and out, to be able to still keep this thing afloat, I definitely would vote me".

Anthony Davis is also up for defensive player of the year alongside Jazz bigman Rudy Gobert and 76ers centre Joel Embiid. But to keep our appetites satiated, the National Basketball Association announced the finalists for each award on Wednesday.

The award will be handed out after the NBA Finals, during the NBA Awards Show on June 25. The Brow was an absolute monster on both ends of the court, evidenced by the fact that he also finished in the top three of the Defensive Player of the Year voting.
