RUMOR: Donald Glover In 'Informal' Talks to Play Black Panther 2's Villain

Donald Glover

Now that Marvel's Black Panther has been in theaters for several months, director Ryan Coogler is clearing the air on one piece of the movie that was particularly hard for him. "One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino [Glover's musical moniker]".

After the incredible financial success of Black Panther, it's not too surprising that it will be receiving a sequel.

"Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that". When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.

Who would you like to see Glover play in Black Panther 2? "It's tough when you have to kill characters off and I really did love that character". Let us know in the comments! Now that she's been recognized by The Academy as a nominee, her acting career is bound to continue.

Black Panther 2 is only in the beginning stages of its life cycle and it's already gearing up to be a classic.

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1 - following his fiery BRITs performance - host Clara Amfo asked Kendrick about the possibility of landing a cameo role in the next Black Panther flick.

According to Metro, Coogler is in "informal talks" with Donald Glover about a possible role in the movie, while the site also reports that Michael B. Jordan could be set to reprise his role as Erik Killmonger.

Killmonger returning from the dead isn't that far-fetched, since it does happen in the comics (he's resurrected by the Mandarin, who in the MCU is a fake villain and actually a front for Aldrich Killian, but also kind of real), but even if that particular storyline isn't mined, a new villain from Glover would be an intense continuation of the series' stellar casting process. "So if I could, I'd play a Killmonger for sure".
