Sheriff: Naked man referenced bomb at Daytona Beach airport

The concourse at Daytona Beach International Airport

After no suspicious devices were found, the terminal was reopened around 9:40 a.m. "Get on your belly...turn around and get on your belly or you're getting Tased", one officer can be heard shouting at Greenwood as he sits naked on the ground with his head in his hands wearing only dress shoes and socks, the footage shows. "Usually they close a small area if they find (an unattended) bag, but I've never seen them empty out the whole terminal".

A naked man wreaked havoc at a Florida airport Friday when he claimed a bomb was going to detonate, authorities said.

A deputy yells, "Get on your belly!"

A man was subdued with a stun gun and arrested after officials say he walked into Daytona International Airport and later claimed he had a bomb.

"I planted a bomb in the bathroom", Chitwood said the suspect told deputies.

A bomb unit confirmed the bag was not risky and performed a secondary sweep before allowing travelers to reenter the airport. As he was detained, the suspect told deputies they had to get out of the airport. Greenwood had arrived at the airport with his clothes on but emerged from a bathroom naked, Chitwood said. "Just get me out of here, please".

Chitwood said Greenwood is well-known to law enforcement and previously has been held under the state's Baker Act, which allows for someone to be held temporarily for mental evaluation.

Greenwood eventually informed deputies he had ingested ecstasy and other drugs Thursday night.

Two flights were about to depart, but they did not leave.

Airport staff evacuated a maximum of 225 people, mainly passengers from an American Airlines and a Delta flight, outside as deputies began searching the bathrooms of the airport.

Greenwood faces multiple charges, including burglary, making false report concerning a bomb, criminal mischief, resisting arrest without violence, exposure of sexual organs and unlawful possession of someone else's identification.
