Supreme Court quashes demand of probe in Sridevi's death

Dubai after accidentally drowning in her hotel bath-tub

After 65 days of her sudden dismissal a film-maker Sunil Singh, has filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking a probe into the death of the much-loved Padma Shri actor. Hence, let's what Supreme Court will say on Sunil Singh's plea.

Reportedly, earlier Sunil Singh had filed a plea in Delhi High Court but the court rejected the petition claiming that the authorities in India and Dubai have already looked into the incident. Since then, there have been many reports were doing rounds about her death.

Singh's lawyer senior advocate Vikas Singh argued before the court that an insurance policy worth Rs 240 crore in was brought in Sridevi's name in Oman and could be encashed only if the actor died in Dubai.

54-year-old Sridevi had died in Dubai hotel due to "accidental drowning" on February 24 inside her suite.

He claimed that he was at the hotel where Sridevi had died and the information that he had received from the hotel staff and employees was very different from what was distributed in the media and her family. According to Dubai-based Gulf News, the actor was under the influence of alcohol when she fell into the bathtub and drowned. There were traces of alcohol present in her body, the report stated.

Sridevi's death a suicide or homicide?
