Conmen arrested for seeking Rs 10 million from Unnao rape accused's wife: On Thursday, two men were reportedly arrested by Lucknow police for demanding Rs 10 million from Sengar's wife to get the case against the BJP leader dropped.

CBI stated that BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar raped a minor girl at his home in Uttar Pradesh's Makhi village on June 4 a year ago.

On May 8, Sengar, main accused in the Unnao rape case was shifted from the Unnao Jail to Sitapur Jail after an appeal was filed in the Allahabad High Court by the victim's family, reported ANI. He demanded Rs 1 crore to bribe CBI officials.

A 16-year-old girl accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of allegedly raping her at his house in 2017.

CBI recorded the survivor's statements before a magistrate under CrPC Section 164, which is admissible in law as evidence, in which she "stood by" the allegations.

According to a report in The Times of India, the accused, identified as Alok Dwivedi of Gosainganj and his aide Vijay Rawat of Deoria, were arrested by Ghazipur police from Gosainganj.

"I demand death penalty for BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for raping me and for murder of my father", the teenage survivor said.

The Unnao incident came to light after the victim and her family tried to set themselves ablaze outside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's home.

An FIR was lodged against Sengar on April 12 under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction of woman), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. And later, Kuldeep Singh Sengar's Y security was removed.

The UP government had handed over the case to the CBI following an uproar over the alleged effort by the Unnao police to save the BJP MLA. "They were offering to secure release of the MLA from custody", HT quoted Deepak Kumar, SSP, Lucknow as saying. CBI also stated that the UP Police had diluted the complaint that was filed by the victim.
