'We got Bama!': Crimson Tide rolls into Austin in 2022

According to the University of Texas, the Longhorns will host Bama on September 10, 2022, at the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium and then travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama on September 9, 2023, to face off against them on their home turf - the Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama will travel to Texas in 2022 and the teams meet in Tuscaloosa the following year.

The Tide and the Cardinals will be meeting for a fourth time, with Alabama having swept Louisville in back-to-back homecoming games, 24-3 in 1976 and 55-6 in 1977. Texas owns a 7-1-1 record against Alabama.

Texas will host the Crimson Tide on September 10, 2022, before traveling to Tuscaloosa on September 9, 2023, for the return leg of their series.

Texas has also announced that its added a home game against UTEP on September 19, 2020 and that it's canceled a home game with UCF that was scheduled for September 9, 2023.

The last time the two teams faced off was in 2010 at the National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl.

Texas (898/2nd NCAA) and Alabama (891/5th NCAA) have combined to play 248 years of football and post 1,789 all-time victories.

"We have played in a lot of these neutral site games to start the season so that we could play against a quality opponent early on - that's worked well for us; but from a fan perspective, we wanted to start to work in some home-and-homes", Saban said on the show.

The fans need this and it's beneficial for the teams to boost their strength of schedule to help present their best case possible for the fickle College Football Playoff committee that changes their metrics every year to see who plays for the national title. The Longhorns will now host the Buckeyes on August 30, 2025, and travel to Columbus on September 5, 2026.
