Wife attacked former US Open champ over bad round

EXCLUSIVE: Golfer Lucas Glover's wife is arrested after 'attacking' him and calling him a 'p***y' and a 'loser' after he played a poor round at PGA Players Championship

According to Golf Digest, which obtained documents from the St. John's County Sheriff's office, everything escalated when Glover's wife berated him for his poor round at The Players Championship over the weekend. Following the tournament's third round, Krista Glover was arrested and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest.

Police were called to a rented home in Jacksonville, Florida as Lucas and Krista were having an altercation.

Lucas told deputies Krista gets violent every time he doesn't play well in a major PGA tournament, according to the incident report.

Glover and his mother were both found with lacerations on their arms, while his mother also had blood on her clothes.

The 2009 U.S. Open champion also told the police his wife had been drinking.

Once inside, Krista allegedly damaged the auto by kicking the door.

Glover later released a statement on Twitter asking for the public to respect their privacy.

The incident occurred Saturday night in Ponte Vedra and Krista Glover allegedly "forcefully attacked" him.

Police arrived after a reported disturbance where they found Lucas and Krista having a "verbal altercation" in the porch of their residence.

"Lucas stated Krista acts this way and starts altercations all the time, but has never done so in front of his mom", the report said.

The mother of the golfer was also attacked by Krista when she stepped into the situation.

Police said Conley Glover "resisted" being brought to the patrol auto and being placed inside, including an attempt to "wrap her legs and feet around the door and frame of the vehicle".

At one point during the transport to jail, two deputies tried to loosen her handcuffs and she tried to get away.

"Wait till the tour (PGA) hears about this", she yelled at the deputies, according to the report.

Krista Glover resisted deputies' efforts to place her in a patrol vehicle, according to the report, and her tirade continued on the ride to jail. "You will lose your job".

"Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter", he tweeted. "Wait till I talk with the judge, you will be f.ing fired over this".
