CBBC Newsround: Disney release new trailer of Dumbo film

Dumbo the elephant is flying back to the big screen this time with a Tim Burton twist

Dumbo fleshes out the human world of the tale by centering the story on Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell), a war veteran and former circus star who lost his arm in battle.

The all-star cast of the live-action Dumbo remake includes big names like Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Danny DeVito. Set to be released March 29th, 2019, the first trailer has just dropped, and I couldn't be more excited.

Don't expect to see Dumbo's protector, Timothy Q. Mouse, or the series of mocking, racist crows pestering the little flying elephant. Dumbo is directed by iconic filmmaker Tim Burton, who has been working with Disney ever since Alice in Wonderland and most recently made Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Following the successes of The Jungle Book, Pete's Dragon and Beauty and The Beast, Disney handles the reins of handling the Dumbo adaptation to the Academy Award-nominated director Tim Burton.

The short trailer for Dumbo, based on the 1941 animated classic, is enough for viewers to tell the film will be a bit darker than the original.

What do you think of Disney's latest upcoming live-action remake? The film will likely have scrapped the racist characters from the story, so it seems that Tim Burton's live-action version of this film will be a much-needed update to this classic story. Unless it's as forgettable as Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory adaptation back in 2005, of course. It's only then that V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) hopes to recruit Dumbo to Dreamland, a new circus.

When the first strains of the haunting "Baby Mine" float over the first trailer of the live-action Dumbo, you know you're in for some emotional damage.
