Fortnite's 4.4 Content Update Adds Stink Bombs and Nerfs Rocket Launchers

When thrown, the Stink Grenade creates a cloud of gas that does 5 damage every half-second.

As first reported by Reddit user 1Kick234, Epic Games briefly described the Stink Bombs as a weapon that explodes and will damage the target slowly from the inside. This mode comes with a countdown and the victor is the one with more player count on the team. According to reports, data miners from the group Two Epic Buddies uncovered some files that indicate a rocket launcher is coming to the game.

The full set of patch notes for the Fortnite 4.4 content update can be found below.

But there is one weapon that has proven a game-changer for players when trying to secure the final circle.

The Rare version's reload speed has been increased from 2.8 seconds from 2.3, the Epic's to 2.66 seconds from 2.185, and the Legendary's to 2.52 from 2.07. Players can still work around the nerf if you're in a team-based mode and can get your teammates to hold some ammo for you, but solo players will have to find something else to spam.

The team with the most players remaining at the end of the timer wins. Additionally, the maximum amount of Rocket Ammo unloaded that can be carried has been adjusted to 12.

Upon expiration of the timer, the team with the most players left standing will win.

All teams that are tied for the lead at the end of the match will be declared the winners.

Fixed performance issues on Switch related to frequently called time functions during gameplay (especially when skydiving).

Fixed attenuation of Supply Drop opening sound so it doesn't sound like it's right next to players even if it's opened far away.

Music for the "fresh" emote has been re-added.

Fixed the two intersecting busses on the starting island.

Clinger Explosion sound fixed on iOS/Switch platforms.

There's still a lot we don't know about the Stink Bomb. You can check out a screenshot of the Stink Bomb, as well as it's description from the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit below.
