Designer Kate Spade, one of the biggest names in American fashion known especially for her sleek handbags, was found dead on 5 June 2018 in her NY apartment.

Kate Spade died of an apparent suicide earlier this week, and since the news broke, people everywhere have shared their love for Kate Spade and her designs on social media.

Long after Ms. Spade and her husband left their company to devote themselves to other projects, they launched a new venture in 2016, an accessories label called Frances Valentine.

He appeared to confirm the cause of death as suicide in his statement, which was obtained by the Mirror, recalling: "We were in touch with her the night before and she sounded happy".

Andy Spade, 55, says his wife was seeing a doctor regularly and was taking medication to treat her illness.

"Bea was living with both of us and we saw each other or spoke every day". Andy said that the couple had never discussed divorce. She met her frequent collaborator and future husband Andy Spade in the mid-1980s, when both were students at Arizona State University working in the same clothing store, they told The Impression, a fashion publication.

He said there were "personal demons she was battling". "If that helped anybody avoid anything - fine, she'd be delighted". They were married for 24 years before her death. My daughter and I are devastated by her loss, and can't even begin to fathom life without her.

How did Kate Spade die? "But we certainly miss our bright, sun-shiney little person".

Andy, brother of comedian David Spade, said he still has not seen the note, and was "appalled" that a private message ot his daughter would leak to the press.

An unnamed source told Page Six that Kate had been a "major alcoholic", while additional anonymous sources also claimed that Kate appeared to have a drinking problem. "There were no business problems". We loved creating our businesses together. "We were co-parenting our lovely daughter", he stressed. "We loved each other very much and simply needed a break", Andy Spade added.

"That seemed to make her more comfortable, and we'd get sooo close to packing her bags, but - in the end, the "image" of her brand (happy-go-lucky Kate Spade) was more important for her to keep up".

"My main concern is Bea and protecting her privacy as she deals with the unimaginable grief of losing her mother", he concluded.
