Kim Jong Un commits to ‘complete denuclearization’ after meeting with Trump

"South Korea will have mixed feelings toward Trump's remarks", said Lee Il-woo, a director at Korea Defense Network in Seoul. "And these training exercises - the president calls them "war games" - are for the defense of South Korea".

"I think President Trump was a little too generous to Xi Jinping because over the last three months we have seen blatant sanctions violations by China", he told Maria Bartiromo on "Mornings with Maria".

"Here at the Pentagon, what they're telling us is, they will be in line with as soon as they figure out what, exactly, he's talking about", she said.

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un should know that the USA has a history of "quitting treaties and violating their commitments" before trusting Washington, Iran's Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"That is a long time for these big massive planes to be flying to South Korea to practice and then drop bombs all over the place and then to go back to Guam, I know a lot about airplanes, it is very expensive".

"Number one we save money - a lot".

A reduction in US troops on the Korean peninsula was not on the table in discussions with Kim, but Trump said that "at some point" he wants "to get our soldiers out".

I pay my high compliments for the courage and determination of the two leaders, President Trump and Chairman Kim, not to settle for that outdated and familiar reality but to take a daring step towards change. North Korea also insists that the USA troop presence in the South, as well as its nuclear "umbrella" over allies Seoul and Tokyo, are part of America's "hostile" policy toward the North. Trump described the exercises as "very provocative" and said Pyongyang "very much appreciated" seeing the exercises end.

South Korea's Presidential Blue House said it needed to "to find out the precise meaning or intentions" of Trump's statement, while adding that it was willing to "explore various measures to help the talks move forward more smoothly".

The document is broken down into four key points, saying: "1".

USA forces in South Korea were also apparently clueless as to the decision to suspend the military exercises. The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.
