Rand Paul Calls 'Naïve' Lindsey Graham a 'Danger to the Country'

President Donald Trump shakes hands with North Korea's Kim Jung Un during their summit in Singapore

Sen. Rand Paul unloaded on Sen.

"That doesn't make the world more peaceful - it makes it more risky", Graham added, noting that he supports Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer's (D-N.Y.) proposed deal urging the president to work toward "incremental progress" with North Korea negotiations.

Paul spoke with Wolf Blitzer today about the imminent denuclearization summit in Singapore.

"I hope I never have to use it, but if you want to convince North Korea and China that things are different with Trump, then Congress has to have his back", Graham said of his resolution.

"I wanted to stop the war games, I thought they were very provocative, but I also think they're very expensive", when asked if he discussed pulling US troops out of South Korea with Kim Jong Un", Trump said in an interview with ABC News. "That should be something that is seen as naive and seen as something that really serious people shouldn't really even be discussing".

Responding to Paul's remarks in a statement to CNN, Graham said the Kentucky senator is "constantly AWOL" in matters of national security.

"It's also gotten us in dozens of wars where it's not always clear what the American interest is in those wars, and sometimes I think the reaction to our involvement in those wars has been worse than if we had not been involved at all", Paul said. "I'm a realist. I'm not trying to bring democracy to North Korea, I'm not trying to unify North Korea-South Korea, I'm trying to help this president end a conflict between us and North Korea where they have a capability to hit America soon and give up their nuclear weapons before they sell them to somebody who would use them", he added.
