Donald Trump told the Japanese prime minister that he could send him 25 million Mexicans to teach him about migration issues, according to reports.

Bitter differences over trade dominated the summit hosted by Canada, with leaders of the world's largest economies lining up against Trump's threats to impose stiff tariffs on imported steel and aluminium.

Trump on Friday rejected reports of discord, blaming the "Fake News Media" on Twitter for portraying his G7 participation as negative while posting several photos of himself appearing to get along well with his fellow leaders.

At the G7 summit, which Prime Minister Theresa May described as "difficult" and "candid", Mr Trump caused a stir when he refused to endorse the conclusions of the meeting.

Earlier reports also indicated that Trump took to referring to Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Union commissioner, as a "brutal killer", due to his anti-trust campaigns against expanding USA corporations.

US President Donald Trump threatened Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that he would ship 25 million Mexicans to his country, one of a series of freakish statements at last week's acrimonious G-7 meeting, according to a report.

The US president also objected to not being able to talk directly to Germany and France about trade deals.

A week after the disastrous G7 summit wrapped up in Canada, EU officials have leaked behind-the-scenes quotes from Donald Trump, giving insight into the bombastic, forthright style he deployed with other leaders.
