What Kyrie Irving had to say about the most recent Celtics season

Those are the questions the Celtics hope to answer next season, when Irving returns to Boston's young and exciting roster. "I've seen a lot, so. we'll see what management [does]".

Irving made it clear, however, that management will not decide in a vacuum. He said he's not running on a treadmill yet, but mentioned he is participating in "running activities" on the basketball court.

"I mean it sucked, man", Irving said. "We pretty much have open dialogue with the direction we're going in and we all feel confident that we all have something to offer here".

After weeks of being "an outsider looking in", Irving said he's planning on dedicating this offseason to his craft and is taking everything one day at a time to ensure he will be ready for the start of training camp. "We'll see what happens".

As for the effect of those conversations with Danny Ainge and the front office, Irving said, "It puts things at ease". "Obviously, the speculation ... it's inevitable". Boston would take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers but the Celtics would drop the final two games of the series.

Irving can sign a significantly bigger contract if declines his player option for 19-20 and becomes a free agent.

No one was more shocked than the Cleveland Cavaliers when star guard Kyrie Irving requested for a trade last summer. And his injury history won't affect that concept.

When asked if he sees himself wearing Celtics' green long-term, here's how Irving responded.

Irving knows, however, that his contract will be there, too.

Talking about his future with the Celtics, Irving, unsurprisingly, said he doesn't plan to sign an extension with the team this summer, which he's eligible to do. "You know, just going into this year with the mindset of trying to win a championship". It's hard to even really fathom what you would even do with an extra $80 million, but even that being the case, you shouldn't pass that kind of money up. While these reports are just talk at this point, while Irving was in Cleveland, he had expressed interest in going to NY to play for the Knicks on multiple occasions.
