Barca lodge £53m offer for Chelsea's Willian

Willian no ha recibido información alguna del Barcelona

La Blaugrana is prepared to step up proceedings in their pursuit for Chelsea winger Willian in the next few days.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has also been linked with a move for the player, who he coached during his days as Chelsea manager.

He claimed that the Brazilian is not happy at Stamford Bridge and may leave the club this summer.

A new central defender appears to be a priority as doubts persist over Chris Smalling and Phil Jones while Victor Lindelof is being tipped for a move after a disappointing debut season in England so Mourinho could be on the look out for a reliable partner for Eric Bailly.

According to Sky Sports, Barcelona have upped the ante in order to beat United to the 29-year-old, having put in a second offer worth €60 million (R930 million) after Chelsea rejected their initial €50 million (R775 million) bid.

Since his time as Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho has been an admirer of Brazil global Willian, and he feels he should sign him for the Red Devils this summer.

Willian was away with the Brazil squad at the World Cup and the Catalan side have offered £55m with a further sum of £5m in add-ons.

Willian has made 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club in 2013, scoring 44 goals and assisting another 39 strikes, and has also helped the Blues lift four trophies along the way.
