Chelsea winger Kenedy completes Newcastle medical

Lille's Brazilian midefielder Thiago Maia vies with Angers Ivorian defender Ismael Traore during the French L1 football match Lille vs Angers on February 24 2018 at the Pierre Mauroy

Asked about the possibility of returning to Newcastle in an interview with the Daily Mail in April, Kenedy said: "I am enjoying my time at Newcastle, but obviously I have a contract at Chelsea".

Newcastle United are working on a deal to sign Kenedy once again from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports News.

Chelsea midfielder Kenedy is close to officially joining Newcastle United on a season-long loan after reportedly completing his medical.

Sampdoria had an obligation to buy him permanently after he impressed on loan last season and Jiangsu Suning have offered £7.5million to take him straight away on loan, while Atleticio Madrid are also considering the in-demand ace.

He made 13 appearances for the Magpies during the course of his loan spell at the club last term, scoring twice and providing two assists for his team-mates. The Brazilian formed a strong bond with the club's fanbase after his impressive showings, with Newcastle believed to be keen on bringing him back on a permanent basis should his second loan spell go well. He still has two years left on his original deal which ends in the summer of 2020. But Kenedy would still prefer Newcastle for there he could play a full season on the pitch rather than on the bench.

Gab Marcotti discusses the latest developments in the Conte-Sarri saga and what's keeping the former Napoli manager from moving to Stamford Bridge.

Currently, Kenedy has returned to Chelsea training ahead of their pre-season with Antonio Conte presiding over matters as his situation still remains unclear.
